It's hard to believe that we're the only one with a real Christmas Tree....cut last weekend when we were in Central Peeay It's a white pine....long needles...very pretty....sitting in Kathy's special 'stay-fresh' solution
We will have a real tree but we haven't had a chance to get it yet. We always buy a Noble Fir about 8 feet tall. It will be the first time our daughter won't be with us to pick it out, but she doesn't want to come home from her Apt. until closer to Christmas.
We have some blinking lights on our back deck. I may put up some lights at the ceiling in the family room but I haven't had a chance yet.
We also "do" Hanukkah at Andy's parent's house. I've been busy getting presents for the six kids we buy for. We'll be going there next Sunday for that.
I think both of us should have checked 'dead tree' b/c 'live tree' probably means one in a pot which is intended to be planted outside after use Once we cut our tree, it is technically on the way to 'dead'
I usually don't get a tree because I'm not at my house on Christmas but this year I found this tree on a friends property and in a few months it will be demolished, so instead of allowing the tree to be destroyed I decided to dig it up, pot it and use it for Christmas and then plant it in my yard after the holidays.
I call it my Charlie Brown Christmas tree and the ornaments are my grandmothers antique ornaments so her spirit will be remembered as well.
Sometimes it's the simple things in life that are very special. No matter how small.

I totally agree; please explain that to my wife. But she wouldn't be able to hear you as the blinking musical lights on the fireplace would drown you out.

You're right. I didn't even see the dead tree option till I just went back and looked.
That is the cutest Lab puppy I have seen yet. The puppy looked a bit sad but what a cutie! Back to the topic, no Christmas tree this year for us this year as we are trying to sell our house and my wife didn't want to put up a tree and take it down soon after.
I took the pics at the breeder's last week when we picked him out.....it was a tough choice...they are all so cute......we'll bring him home Saturday at 1:30!.....yes I am counting the hours......
