Any coffee connoisseur?

While I was on a month long all expenses paid trip to California, I noticed one of my colleagues brought his French Press and would brew a cup every night. The coffee aroma was so good I vowed I would try it again when I came back home. I have a French Press by Bodum. I like the coarse taste with oil floating. I am not sure if anyone here actually prefer French Press over drip coffee. Fire away!

French press is the only way.

My daughter used to work in a coffee shop in Old Towne, Alexandria (Misha's). They and she swear by the French press. I like the flavor, but I also like my filter drip.

But I saw a neat additional use for one on Iron Chef. One of the chef's used a French press to filter and clarify a broth, leaving all the solids at the bottom and nice broth on the top.

We're not at home and staying with friends in TN. Their Miele delivers 24 hours a day -- Starbucks X-Mas blend right now. I'm just not a big coffee fan but the wife is.

FP is great, except coffee doesn't stay warm so you need to drink right away, which is more flavorful anyway
No filters to buy/ run out of a plus

and a french press

the bottom two will extract more coffee oils than a reg drip pot

So I guess we are not coffee connoisseurs here.

Actually, we were just talking about coffee. I know he likes coffee, he just goes for the quick and easy stuff. I know the coffee connoisseurs are :eek3: . I was asking if he didn't want to try some of the newer blends out there.
