Default Any Roomba Owners?

My son, AJ, was kind enough to give me an iBot Roomba 690 for Christmas. As I type this, it is scurrying around our house vacuuming our hardwood and area rugs. So far, so good. But it made sense to me to turn to this august group of technophiles for hints, tips, and general advice.

Who has a Roomba? What did you name it? And what tips and tricks would you care to share?

I would like to pull the trigger. But the prices for the different models are so varied. I don’t yet know what features to go for.

I do, yes, but she is a small Border Terrier and doesn’t shed much. Hahaha And she is well trained. No poop mistakes. LOL

Oof. I have a cat that occasionally likes to barf on the floor. Guess I won''t be using the Roomba scheduled cleaning feature.

I've never had one but a friend of mine loves hers and is on her second one. I love the you tube videos of cats riding them!

All I keep thinking is Jay Leno's line - - how lazy have we gotten, . . .

Laziness is not the only motivation for using one, though. If you are only present in that home about half the time, you can control the vac with bluetooth electronics from afar while away; and then you return to a house with clean floors. Just thinking...

My sweet friend who loves hers is in her late 80s. She volunteers a lot but pushing a vacuum around is tough for her and impossible for her husband.
