Any vinyl listener?
I am sure our fellow vintage folks know the 8 track and vinyl records. I don't know why but I am drawn to old records instead of CDs. I find myself buying these old records whenever I go near them. I should be getting rid of these.
I still download modern pop/rock songs from ITUNE so I can listen to my IPOD when I am running but there is something about listening to the records.
This weekend, I've gone through a bunch of records in my study on my turn table.
Do you listen to records or is it just me? It is truly a sign that I am becoming more vintage, perhaps.....

I'm to get rid of my collection but can't bear to part with them yet. Some of them are classics. I've got an old Elvis one I was thinking of putting on Ebay. But yes I listen to my LPs when I have the time. I also have an old 8 track sitting on the porch that I'm sure still works.
Come to think of it, I have some 78s too. Boy, am I dating myself here.

I have lots of old (really old) records from Auntie/my uncle and my parents. I haven't decided what to do with them. I can play them because I bought a record player that does, but if I decide to part with them, who wants them? Duck calling, anyone?

I've thought many times of buying a SOTA turntable, but I really don't have a place to set it up. All my A/V equipment is built into a wall.
What kind of records do you have, MsP?

^ I have to go through them, but they are things like Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Mitch Miller, big band stuff - basically 40s/50s/60s. And some of my uncle's duck calling records. Not sure who would want those.

I still have an upscale B&O turntable from years ago. I've tried it a few times over the years with only nostalgia value results; I think the records are pretty worn.

Many of you probably have some really valuable records. There are collectors out there who would pay premium for Elvis and Beatles records. I just hunt them at thrift stores.
I've collected some Elvis and Beatles records over the years and listen to them. Recently, I came across Bing Crosby's "Fly With Me" record in good shape. These singers sound different when they were young and those records were produced.
It is always a treat to listen to how they sounded when they were younger. I like listening to my vinyls.

I have a bunch of LPs in the garage, but I don't think I've listened to one in over 20 years. My last turntable is long gone.
I never liked listening to vinyl. I could never keep them clean enough. Maybe it's the dry SoCal climate that always made them static charged dust magnets. Once I bought my first good tape deck I copied all of my albums to tape. Any new albums I bought were played just the one time necessary to make the copy.
