Big changes. I'm lucky I don't owe money to the IRS. Returns for withholding will be about the same US and CA. A lot of folks at work look like they will owe the government unexpected thousands, this year.

Funny, how BIG CABLE NEWS did little reporting on the this, when the taxes were being figured out, last year.

Huh? I heard all about it constantly. The tax reform bill was considered "punishment" for blue states. I saw comparisons for people who lived in high tax versus low tax states. I saw before and after comparisons for people in the same state. Maybe I don't understand what you mean.

Check out the Tax Cut? Tax Cut? thread in Politics. Several posts, including my own taxes just finished.

Lainey, you file your return, and get a refund (hopefully).

You changed your avatar again. You're confusing me.

Are you comparing your TAX LIABILITY to last year and take into account wage changes, stock sales, etc? Overall, people’s 2018 TAX LIABILITY is lower than their 2017 amount, all else remaining equal. The W-2 withholding tables got all out of wack for 2018. The news doesn’t know how to report this stuff. The news only cares about headlines, misleading or not.

Guess those at work, who owe money, should have saved more from their paycheck. Should know better this year.

No dependent deductions, right?
