Default Anyone know someone who can read Japanese?

I'm trying to source out a part for some equipment for a customer. It's a Japanese machine and when I google it, I get the company's website in Japanese! There is no link to an English web site. The one link to an English Web site, that I did find on Google is listed as "under construction."

I'm trying to find a US distributor, but nothing has come up in Google. The phone numbers I have for a distributor are no longer in service. This is equipment from 1985!

Thanks to anyone who may be able to help.

Lainey, you may want to post on the Japanese Owners forum too.

Thanks, Jim.

I may give that a try too.

Dogpile.com came up with a link to an email for a machinery company, and one of the NE guys suggested Google translate. (I didn't know about that). Another guy is sending me a PM with an email address for someone who reads Japanese.

This site is the best. I knew I'd find help here.

What kind of machine part are you looking for, Lainey? I work for the US arm of a Japanese machine tool company. Maybe I can help, maybe not. Is this industrial machinery?

Try cutting and pasting into Babel Fish. Translations aren't always great but you can usually get a gist of what's written.

Thanks all!

Bruce/The Toon hooked me up with a friend of his who is Japanese. He called me and looked at the web site while we were on the phone. I did get an email contact and am waiting to hear back from them.

Right...that was going to be my suggestion. We've had some pretty fun translation issues since I introduced my Boss to Babelfish, but you do get the gist.
