I wish I had his ambition. Every day I walk by my art room and say to myself that I should be painting. A couple days ago I talked to a neighbor who gave me a bunch of canvas to recoat and reuse. I knew what the first question was going to be and I had to give me stock, no I have not been doing any painting but I keep thinking about it.

Not sure how much is ambition. He does it mostly to relax and destress. But he certainly enjoys the artistic element, too. He's thinking about what to paint next.

Here is the +1's current project - not his version yet. We'll see how it turns out. This is the original of Monet's "Alice Hoschede in the Garden", 1881. She was his second wife. Both of us love Impressionism.

i've been trying to get my wife to do some impressionistic work.
but she's far to literal in style to go there.

Yesterday, we took the +1's version of the Monet above to be framed. He's now working on a couple of oil paintings (which I've not seen since they stay at his class location), plus an acrylic of the Jefferson Memorial with cherry blossoms blooming. I'll take pics of these soon. A woman from his office who is getting married in mid-Nov asked for a painting of a landscape. He decided to paint this pic from our trip to CO. He fleshed it out last night. I think it's going to turn out well! It's one of my fave pics from the trip. He's going to pump up the Fall colors in the trees in front a bit - maybe more golden aspens.
