It's hard to pick favorites, since I like a lot of his paintings. But this is one. He painted it for my ex of all people, who is Argentine American and currently lives in Argentina. The bottle is an Argentine Malbec wine. The pic appears to be a bit fuzzy - blame the photographer.

Those are all tough subjects focusing on reflections. I had several prints made of my last one and gave some out at a party last nights.

For one reason or another we have not been able to make it to ArtPrize in Grand Rapids which has been running for about 3 weeks. Finally heading there tomorrow. You may not have heard of it but IT'S HUGE. There are 1,550 artist this year with works spread over the 3 square mile art show area and they our all hoping for a piece of the $500,000 in award money. This is the 7th year for the event.

Here's just one sample of an entry in the outdoor category. It's by a Miami artist tracing the history of graffiti on the walls under a bridge in downtown GR. Look closely at the fish and you will see trees in their coloring. It took him just 10 days to paint it. As I understand he didn't make the final cut for the big money but when there is 1,549 others it's tough.

^ My cousin and her hubby (who live in Ada, MI) were here for my mother's burial and encouraged us to come visit them when the show is going on. Also for the +1 to run a half marathon up there. So we'll try to put both on the calendar at some point.
