Autoweek- S2000 Revisited

Hit the nail on head! Honda blew it. Can it, will it, should it, come back with another S2000.............

It's nice to see the car written about but disappointing that they got so many things wrong. Including some obvious things that just a little research would have helped get right. There were no silver CR's and only 699 manufactured, not 1,400.

I responded to this article on S2000.com. I also found way too many incorrect things. I believe the 1400 figure came from all S2000's built in 2008 and 2009 (something else they also got wrong when they said there were no 2009's produced), rather than just the CR's.

Was this entire article written by one person?
First we have:
"The clutch has long throws, at odds with the placement of the other two pedals -- alas, that doesn't change with warmer temperatures."
Then there is this:
"The clutch is so smooth and light that you'll want to press on it just for fun. Please don't, however, as this wears out the clutch springs"
The whole thing seems like it was written by a high school student. Just enough research to "sort of" get it right, with a lot of fluff to fill out whatever number of words were required for submission.
It's unfortunate, because the S2000 was pretty much ignored by the media after the early years. As we all know there is a world of difference between early cars and late cars, but except for the CR which sold very few, no attention was paid.
Thanks for the link though.

Surprised me, but one of our Allegheny Club guys told me that a local dealership was ready to take a beating to get a CR from his show room in 2008. I assume it wasn't selling because most prospective S buyers wanted retractible tops. Now of course CR's are in demand!
My original thought on the article was what cold running problem? Other than the obvious faster idle speed & slight hitch shifting into 2nd at times, my 07 is the same car cold or hot. But now that all of you CR owners demand that articles actually be factual, I guess all I can say is at least they're still thinking about a car whose production has ceased for 5 years.
