Default Added a toy to the fleet

An '03 Sl500 with 66K on the clock. And of course I still have The Toy.
Being an automatic it should be a little more tolerable on the highway stop and go during the commute.
Sl's have an Active Body Control ( ABC) Hydraulic suspension which can be a fortune if you go to the dealer for service.
I had the dealer pop it up on the lift and pointed out the leaking shock. Left with the car at his cost.

I don't like too many MBs, but that one looks nice.

The fender vents and slopped front are always an eye catcher.

Yes!! it's a folding hardtop. Roof splits in the middle and folds in to the trunk.
It's a little slower than the S2000, but a lot quieter with the roof up.

SL's are apparently a very different car.
I've had 6 previous Mercedes over almost 20 years, ML's, GL's ,E's and S classes.
I have never had so much a half hearted greeting, head nod, eyebrow shrug, nothing, from another MB drivers.
I've had the SL one day and gotten headlight flashes and hearty waves from other SL drivers.
It's almost like they're real people. Maybe it's folks who get convertibles.

The interior of this this is on the other end of the comfort spectrum compared to the S2000.
The S2000 is a tightly laced set of track shoes and this is an over stuffed set of house slippers. That you can run in.
