Britfest
On Saturday my MG club, The Central New Jersey MG Club, put on the annual "Britfest". Generally we get about 125 to 150 British cars to show, but because the weather was threatening we only got about 50 to 60 cars this year. Still, it was a good show with some beautiful British cars. Lots of MGs, Triumphs, Austin Healys, Lotus and even a Morgan. We even had 4 new McLarens. This year's featured marque was the Austin Healy 3000 and we had a few beautiful examples.

The owner is asking $65,000 https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...fbcfa305e7.jpg My Favorites https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...f6a4532f8a.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...457cd6f906.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...0958412b77.jpg |
Of course, we got a lot of MGBs

I love the B’s with the rostyle wheels.

Why would you drive something so primitive as an MG-TD when you could be rolling in the comfort of a modern car like an MGA?
Looks like a really fun gathering. |

We usually get about 10 MGAs but this year not one MGA came. The weather was threatening. It was overcast and it rained the night before. Luckily the rain held off until after the gathering. We were dissappointed that more cars didn't show and at the same time delighted by how many did.

This is my Uncle who died this year at the age of 97. He was about 38 when he got his TR3 to drive to work. He drove Topanga Canyon (LA) twice every day until he retired. He had lots of stories about keeping up with more powerful cars on that curvy drive. RIP. |
Very nice, Rob!
