Hey!! I've got some Texas Air stock that is probably worth as much as your Wang and GM stock.

Does BMW still have the automobile portion of Rover Group?

As interesting as this list is, I'd like to see a sample listing of foreign and American cars and where the parts are made and where they are assembled. I heard the owner of a Cadillac dealership talk about 10 years ago. He went down the list of cars he sold and there wasn't a single car that was made or assembled in one country. He said there wasn't any such thing as an "American" car anymore.

2. Honda Accord
3. Ford Escape
4. Ford Focus
5. Chevy Malibu
6. Honda Odyssey (mine "had" Pioneer speakers made in China!)

It gets so confusing...

Back in the 60's-70's the VW 914 was sold in America as the Porsche 914. Many of the parts in the Porsche system carried a VW part number: 411.... Go to the VW dealer and buy the part much cheaper.

They separate. IIRC, Porsche subsequently had the highest per-unit profit margin of any major manufacturer. VW obviously overpaid to reestablish the relationship and tank VW's share price.

And let's not forget VW's plant in Pennsylvania. The state and local government gave them insane incentives for the first ten years; soon after the ten years were up, the plant closed. I hope Chattanooga doesn't get shafted the same way.

What happened to Ford's 1/3 or so interest in Mazda?
I thought that Porsche tried to buy Volkswagen last year but ran out of cash, and Volkswagen ended up buying Porsche.
