Many of you remember him being born ... well now he is 5 and had his first day in a quarter midget race car. Blackbird Racing in De. had its fun day @ Airport Speedway for those interested in quarter midget racing. For a small donation of $20 you get a class on racing safety and the proper driving line, safety and track communication. They painted a white line thru the center of the track and sent the kids out 1 at a time for 2 10 lap sessions asking them to keep the car on the white line. Christian was tops of his class which was made up of 7 five year olds keeping it glued to the white line and full throttle around the track! A PROUD DAY! Next year we begin novice school for 5 weeks then racing !I have a video posted on my facebook account for those interested friend me Charlie Bruno from Deptford NJ
this is my fav pic, he gets the rear loose and you can see by the position of the front wheels how he instinctively corrects the drift by pointing the tires in the right direction.
I'm looking forward to the pics. When FB becomes available (down for maintenance) I'll send a friend request. He's simply adorable and the years have just flown by.
I have been grinning ear to ear the last 2 days, I think the joy was mutual for Mom, Dad and Chrisitan. It is all he is talking about.
I have had a passion for cars and racing since I was a little boy but my parents did not have the means for me to try it. We will buy a used race car and all the stuff needed over the winter to gear up for the spring.
