Default Christmas Past Memories

Hope everyone is in good health and enjoying the holidays. Christmas overseas was the one time of year when I did feel homesick. It was nice to fly home on Air France for one of my three Christmas' in France. I thought you might get a kick out of this barrack’s photo from Christmas 1961. That is me in the plaid shirt, 3rd from the left. Got any memories you would like to share?

I spent 2 Christmases on base when I was in the Navy. I was stationed in Coronado Calif, no white Christmases for me. My favorite memories was Christmas with my wife and 2 girls. The girls belief in Santa, decorating the tree and Christmas morning were my favorite memories. We transferred 8mm film I took to a CD. I love to look at them now and then. Then, Christmas with the grandkids was also special.

I have no pictures to prove it, but was invited to a contractor's villa in Saigon for a wonderful Christmas dinner/party in 1969. On the way back to my base as a passenger in a Huey, almost fell out after tossing a couple smoke grenades out the door. Guess I probably had a few too many! Had the day off since the other maintenance officer got to attend a Bob Hope show earlier. We had to trade. Wish I could have witnessed a Bob Hope show, though.

I love that you shared this photo and memory, Dave. I was born in January 1958. Can't say I have any fond Christmas memories as a kid. My best memory is probably from last Christmas with my kids as adults, now.
