I sold mine only because I was approached by a very motivated buyer. Good investment advice says buy low and sell high, most of my life I've been the opposite in buying high and selling low, lol. This offer was too good to be true so I couldn't resist it. I had a buyer who wanted to pay me for every aftermarket part that was on the car (most buyers won't pay an extra penny for aftermarket parts), he wanted to buy it on the spot, as-is with no safety and no emissions testing needed. He didn't even test drive it. He paid cash and drove away with my baby. I owned the car for 9 years and made a profit on the sale, you can't do much better when it comes to depreciating assets like cars.

If you are holding out for a six figure pay out you will have to hold out for a very long time, but you can surely sell your S2000 for a nice profit if you find the right buyer at the right time. The market can also go down as easily as it has gone up , I've seen that with other vehicles where they are hot one year and cold the next.

The the good news is my wife was completely safe. The SUV that hit her went on to hit a curb and flipped.

Insurance company only quoted 10k for both airbags going off? My accident was similar but no airbags. Original estimate was ~12500, ended up being $17500ish and insurance paid for it all.

I’m just not sure it would be worth it given how much it’s value would decrease because of the accident. Was that something you considered when working with your insurance company?
