Sounds more like seller beware.

I just receive payment through pay pal, wait a week and then ship.

We didn't have any luck selling either saddle on E-Bay after lowering the prices and offering a week's tryout. So I pulled the ads. However,we recently sold one with the assistance of a person well known in the local horse world. She listed them on her Facebook. One down, one to go. Now comes the fun part - trying to get our money from PayPal.

We were not worried at all about the person who bought it as she too is well known in the local horse world and she paid using PayPal. OMG, what a run around. We don't use online banking, so we had to go through a little 2-step process that takes a couple days to prove to PayPal the bank account number we gave them was ours. Only one problem, both their online instructions and email instructions were out-of-date. I ended up spending 1-1/2 hours today trying to confirm our bank account within PayPal site. No human to call. Not a single FAQ was of any help. Everything I tried had me going in circles. Finally, I stumbled on a link that allowed me to proceed with the confirmation. The link heading had absolutely no indication it was the one to use; if fact, just the opposite but I was damn if I going to let PayPal keep my money. I am still getting error messages when I try transferring the money.

Just "gift" the money to me and I will make sure you get it.

It's just another account. Buy something with it.

Donna's been shopping for another saddle. But first the horse has to have re-hab; that might pay a couple days if they took it.

I finally got through to a live person. They said they put a block on my account because I tried so often to transfer the money. WTF. They have had my money since Monday and now they are telling me I have to wait another 48 hours before trying a transfer. And to think they charged me $50 for such fine service. I'm not sure I ever want to use PayPal again.

Sorry you had issues with PayPal. I have been using them for at least 15 years, with no problems. I also almost exclusively use on-line banking, so that may be a factor.
Checks??? What are they again???

I use it all the time for all kinds of personal money exchanging. I link it to a bank account so there's no fees for personal money. I've never had an issue.

I do have a friend who uses eBay and PP to sell his guitars and other electronics that he's unloading. PP is very much BUYER focused and makes SELLERS jump through hoops for the smallest things.

I think for specialized items, using forums specific to the item is a much better choice. You don't get the 'public' browsing, the scammers looking, etc... If I'm selling an S2K part, here's probably the best choice, not ebay. I might miss out on a few bucks, but the community aspect is well worth it to me.
