^Yeah. After my initial posting, I have seen several similar articles that have given me pause. I'm now undecided as to what to do, since I have free credit monitoring already through the Target (or was it Home Depot) breach. I posted on another forum and got the same negative comments. Mea culpa.

^ no mea culpa needed, Gene. You were doing the right thing. Apparently there's something more afoot with this. I've read a lot of comments about some fishy business going on, but haven't verified any of them. At least we have a few days to investigate.

I'm not doing anything until this gets sorted out. Too many issues right now.

I think the ethics lawyer at Equifax should be drawn out and quartered.
A deliberately deceptive act like this might actually not stand up in court.
Bill could weigh in better.

Equifax has stated that the language is standard boiler plate but does not apply to the data breach incident. Good news.

Equifax has said this due to the uproar of their legal document which said you waive your rights to sue.

NO WAIVER OF RIGHTS FOR THIS CYBER SECURITY INCIDENT
In response to consumer inquiries, we have made it clear that the arbitration clause and class action waiver included in the Equifax and TrustedID Premier terms of use does not apply to this cybersecurity incident.

Well since Uncle Sam is paying for me to MyID and I also have Lifelock from back when they paid for that, not sure I need to sign up for this

There is an old adage in business.. "Look at a problem as an opportunity"...to find innovative solutions, to improve processes, to identify star employees who rise to the challenge.

Looks like Experian has is putting a fresh and innovative spin on this old saw. "Hey, I've got an idea where we can take this huge blunder that could impact half the people in America and use it to generate lots of additional profits for us."

Someone slept through Business Ethics 101 in B-school. Disgusting.
