You'd be surprised how tough the workout can be when you are on a fish 10 pounds or over. And even smaller tunoids can kick your butt.

That's why I let either Mrs. Pauls or the Gorton Fisherman do all of the work for me.

I agree, Rockfish we caught last year gave us a good fight. My buddy went out of Key West for a 4 day trip. 130 miles offshore with depths over 130 ft. They used electric reels with 6 # weights and caught monster tile fish, grouper, red snapper and lots of other species. They caught over 700# of fish. I told him he was a wuss for using an electric reel.

Give me a small mouth bass on 6# line and its an enjoyable fight! Otherwise, its work.

It is pretty big for a false albacore, Emil. They are a pain in the neck. They hit your spread like a tuna, but run out of gas against the heavy off shore gear due to their smaller size. They taste terrible, so you just throw them back. After you catch three or four of them, the fun wears off and you just want to get away from them. On lighter gear they are an amazing fight and many guys wait all year to go after them and will fish for them exclusively from mid August through September.
