That was different hearing the boys from the UK announcing. Much better I thought. They didn't try to build up excitement in the parts where there isn't any. I watched both the practice and qualifying. That was some hit Hamilton's teammate took.

I was a little surprised to hear that they have accelerometers built into the ear pieces that they wear.
I'd like a peak at the data from Botta's head during that whack into the wall.
that can't feel good.

I watch it for only minutes. I see zero technology. Maybe I miss the scenes of the technology? Maybe you guys are taking about technology discussions the announcers are having while you watch cars parade around the track? I might as well tell you about the flux capacitor I installed in my S2000 while I show you videos of it driving down the street in traffic.

I appreciate that most of you got hooked in another time. I guess that is what surprises me. The current version bears little resemblance. Oh well. Whatever you like about it, I'm glad you all enjoy it. I guess I feel disappointed that I can't muster the interest to join in with you.

I thought it was interesting race. Rules are rules. Most people thought Red Bull got screwed in qualifying by not slowing fast enough for the red flag but the officials followed the rules.

First off I was happy to see Alonso do so well. Secondly, Vettel knows he got lucky but who else enjoys winning more than him? And Mercedes now admits it was their screw up, not the rules that cost Hamilton the race (see link)

You are right. Unlike prior US broadcasts the new UK broadcasters did not touch on anything during the race and they only mentioned a few things in the two shows prior to it (practice and qualifying). Still I enjoyed the new coverage of the race much better except for very long side-by-side ads (but fast forward took care of that).

The ESPN coverage left a lot to be desired.

They should move the onboard cameras so we don't have to look at the halo so much. Like the broadcast team and the job they did but I wish Hobbs was in their somewhere.

No telemetry graphics? Disapointing

Good to see McClaren/Alonso competitive again and a good Ferrari/Mercedes battle coming.

I agree. Hobbs was missed. (I first saw him race 55 years ago at LeMans and many years later drank beer with him in Siebkens bar in Elkhart Lake - sorry had to brag. ) Thank goodness we did not have to hear 10 minutes on tires for once. I don't know for sure but I suspect that given the following F1 has in the UK that they have already had many, many shows leading up to the event where they covered the car changes and team changes.
