Interesting build up to this weekend's race in Spain. I watched all three full practice sessions plus the qually! Although the announcers trying 'so hard' to be funny does get old, it was neat to see some great up close shots of the various cars in their garages, the exercises that Danny Ric was doing, and various corner entry & exit shots not normally seen in the regular race broadcasts.

I had planned on going to a drag strip to see old nitro funny cars today but the entire day was a heavy rain out. So I had nothing better to do and watched all of P1, P2, P3, and Qualifying from Canada. At times I still have problems understanding UK English BUT I have to say that I'm really enjoying F1 racing more. The excellent in garage camera work and info - - who would have thought it takes 6 months to make a carbon brake disc with XX thousands of vent holes. This is the kind of stuff shared while watch P1 (for example). And the insight about what changes are coming to front wings next year, etc., etc. So, while I miss David Hobbs (who I've met and drank with), I think the insight from the garage and various trackside views more than makes up for it.
Congrats to VET and Ferrari for a well deserved pole. What will the crazy Dutchman do?
I've never visited Montreal, although my wife has. It looks neat from what they show. The city tunnel network sounds a lot like Toronto; which is kinda cool. I may have to put it on my bucket list.

Not much action in the race but that's F1.
