A favor to ask.
It has been years since I posted here, sold my last S in 2014, had 2 more kids, went to Antarctica for a while.
I could use some help trying to preserve the character of my local neighborhood. Some big money folks have been buying all the available property in my "Old Florida" neighborhood and we are down to one final public access to the Sebastian River, and thence the Indian River Lagoon and Atlantic Ocean.
I have a Change.org petition up to ask the local St.Johns River Water Management district to not sell the property.
I'd be very grateful to anyone who might be able to take the time to sign. That is my #1 daughter and dog in the photo, at the property in question.

Mike, I signed it. Not sure how much good it will do since it popped right up and listed my city and state but if a Michigan signing helps; you got it.

I signed as well, Mike. Good to hear from you again. I remember seeing you in St. George's, Bermuda, in 2008 as you were docking your vessel at the port. Sorry I didn't get the $0.50 tour of your ship as you had to leave early the next morning.
Here's a pic I took as you were leaving:

Same thing happening in Naples, Fl. We visit for 2 months and every year the small neighborhood homes that have been here for a long time are replaced by McMansions. And there is nothing the locals can do about it. I'll sign.

Done. This former Jacksonville resident and his wife, a former Cocoa Beach resident, are pretty pissed about this. I know the area in question as my Aunt and Uncle live nearby.

Thanks for all the replies and signatures! It's great to see that you all are still here (Growing ever more vintage) also sad to see that some of us aren't.
I'm running a much bigger ship at the moment, 312' oil and gas support vessel in the Gulf of Mexico, I just interviewed for a US Fish and Wildlife Service job, running a teeny tiny boat (57') doing fisheries research on the Great Lakes based out of Wisconsin. I'm still slugging away at the forces of evil here in Florida for the time being though. All of my neighbors are fixed income retirees and they are getting worn down trying to fight the good fight.
