Thanks, folks for the kind words on my hummer photos. They really are better than they show up here.
The hummer looks so good here that I'd print one if it's even better than that. Put it up so in the dead of winter you can remember.

Yes, I'm quite drawn to the window. Robins seem to love my lawn and hop around with something hanging from their mouth, often. I had some smaller black birds on there today, too. I need to get a bird book and some more seed. I bought shelless seeds last time and may do it again. Less mess.

Hey! Do any of you have water out there for the birds? If so, what kind of device? Any recommendations or advice on what not to use?

I have an open faced bird bath that’s filled by my sprinkler system. It’s is used for both our birds drinking and bathing purposes. Birds are not very clean, which requires that I empty and refill it due to soil, scum, peanut shell casings, and general debris every second day. About every ten days I’ll subject it to a Clorox rinse to contribute to its cleanliness.

Good to know. I hadn't thought of putting one on the lawn for water.

I've gone through several birdbaths. My first one lasted a long time Right now we have a plastic dish hung in a little cedar holder. Has to be emptied out and cleaned often. I did put out two orange halves. We'll see if the Orioles show up. Lots of robins out there today when I was out walking. I got a few photos.

I have a fair amount of activity in the yard too, the usual suspects.

Good luck on the Orioles. We bought an Oriole feeder and they essentially said, what is that! But, put out real oranges.

I know they aren't far from my house. Hopefully, they do a fly over and see the oranges. How often do you change them out?

The orange will tell you. Once you get them, we did 1/2 in AM and 1/2 in PM, now we do two a day. Before they only stuck around for a few days, now they're here every day.... for how long TBD.

I caught the Ricky bird in action!! I used my Canon camera but I think my little Lumix does a better job of zooming in. I am guessing it's a non-breeding or immature Western Meadowlark. Not positive, though. Any other ideas, birders?

^5-8-2018. This one is a Meadowlark for sure.

^5-21-2018. Caught him singing, "Rick ee!"

Nice job! I'm not familiar with the bird.

If I got a look at his chest it could be for sure a Meadowlark.
