He seems to be showing up with at least one other house finch, so I'm going with that.

What are you planning to do with the chipmunks you trapped?

We get this excitement every day now - usually 6 to 10 at a time. BTW, my wife traps chipmunks almost every other day. She takes them to a local park and then walks the dog at the same time. The dog really wishes she would do it every day. And, sometimes she does. We never can keep up with them even when we start in the early spring.

Well, it seems we now have another albino bird. But we are not entirely sure what it is. At first glance, it looks like a gold finch. Ideas?

Dave,it must be an old bird, thats why it is all white...
You know, old birds like to frequent old ...

Got me another one when I got home..

I can send you the recipe for the stew that we make using them!

Just kidding..... I take them out to a wooded area and release them.

Someplace where they will not be a nuisance to other people.

Glad to hear. I know chipmunks can cause a lot of damage but I'm really glad you have imposed a "catch and release" program. On another note, I've been seeing tons of warblers that we've never seen around the house until this year. One is a hooded warbler and it is stunningly beautiful flitting around. They don't come to my feeders but they seem to really love my fountain. They fly in/out so fast I can't get a picture. Do any of you get these little fellows?

My hummers are gone, but I've been visited by some of my favorite birds at the feeder this AM, including the nut hatch.

Spotted one of them while on a day trip to Martha's Vineyard.

Also spotted this duck. I love the effect due to the color of the water... missed a bit of his tail though.

Yesterday got one of the neighborhood feral cats (who stalks the birds at our feeders) in the bigger trap. He is no longer an issue in our neighborhood.

And of all things... 2 birds in the little chipmunk trap. They were happy to be set free!

Update....

Just got another one of the feral cats...... He/she will be no problem in the neighborhood going forward also...
