^Interesting. I would have thought squirrels would find them and eat them and maybe they do.

Exactly! Since we get half a dozen BJ's a several times every day we don't need any peanuts to attract them.

just color me green with envy. I mean sure, we get the occasional BJ around here but never six in a day.

A Northern Flicker was in my yard the other day. I wasn't fast enough to get a photo. The Carolina Wren is hanging around the suet right outside the kitchen window. I'm still feeding thistle which the gold finches appreciate. However, I'm tossing out quite a bit as it's been so damn rainy. Rick was going to put out some fresh one today. I probably should dump whatever seed is in the other feeders too. It's probably a bit damp from the constant rain.

Our birds will eat the regular damp seed but they won't touch the thistle seed once it is damp.
