Put safflower seed out Thursday to try and get rid of some of the less than desirable birds.....

Less traffic at the feeders yesterday and today...

But the sparrows, blackbirds, etc have been absent!!!

Haven't filled that feeder since then!

Mike, if you trap the cats, is there any organization that would take them "fix" them and release them far, far away from you? Your trapping skills might come in handy to such an organization.

One of the newer feeders in my yard has a fair amount of safflower seeds in it. The piggy birds seems to leave it alone.

And speaking of birds, I believe this is a Northern Mockinbgird, seen at a beach in RI today. Hope he/she was authorized to be there!

I'm a cat lover and you didn't upset me.

I heard about the Trap Neuter Return (TNR) program from the guy who does the best alignments in southern California, Darin at West End Alignment, of all people. I take all my cars to him as do many other S2000 and NSX owners. He traps cats at his shop.

Stray cats are nothing more than killing machines - no tears here.

Called two shelters, and they don't take feral cats.....

That was enough looking for me!

We have an issue with stray/feral cats in our yard/neighborhood.

See them out back in our bushes stalking the birds.... we also haven't seen a rabbit in 2 years, used to have 3-5 running around.

So... borrowed my neighbors trap (for a skunk problem we had a couple of years ago), and caught one last night around 10:00.... took it to a new home about 15 minutes away, plenty of wooded area.

Just looked, and have another one in the trap..... time to go for a drive again!
It just figures! I keep relocating all of our ferel cats to your neighborhood and you keep relocating them back to our neighborhood.

Since I got rid of the two feral cats, the number of birds at the feeders has gone way down!

Maybe its due to switching to safflower seed!

I'll put out some sunflower seed this weekend!

Hummingbirds arrived here yesterday. Two males fighting at the feeder and a single male around this morning.
This is 10 days earlier than we've ever seen them here before
