We have had some animal or rodent trying to get under our deck. I keep blocking the two places they dig with more and more cement pavers etc. I bought screens which I plan to install tomorrow, but two nights ago I heard them and finally saw what was trying to move in. It was three foxes! Very small buggers, wouldn't take too big of a hole. I imagine they are looking to make a den someplace. Sorry, NIMBY.

Apparently LOUD rock music will drive away raccoons, may be it would work for other critters.

Rick, may have found a new business if it works. I like the idea, may have to copy it for a couple we have that drive me nuts.

We've been having issues with one or two sparrows getting by our "dangling sparrow nuts"!

They would get on the feeder, and just act like a backhoe dumping a ton of seed out for their fellow sparrows on the ground.

Took some 1/4" steel mesh and put it over the feeding tray to prevent this.

We now have just a few sparrows around.... seems like they don't want to bother picking up one safflower seed at a time!

Still getting other birds at the feeder, but traffic is down some.

Filling the feeder maybe once every three days now, instead of daily.

The biggest issue with a catcher like that is if you don't empty it regularly and it rains the seeds turn moldy.

True. I will be diligent about emptying. We added a small rock on two of them for some weight. He needs re-do one as it's blowing around too much. I think the house sparrows might be slightly deterred again by these things They have been getting braver about ignoring the fishing line deterrents as Mike mentioned he's been having the same issue. They do sell seed catchers on line but if these continue to work no need to spend $38.00 on the one I saw

Maybe she doesn't like the paparazzi? I have another shot to share...same tree probably same bird. It is a female.

BTW, I saw something gray rush by me on the deck and was totally freaked out as I could not see what it was/where it went. I said out loud "That had better be a squirrel." Then I heard more noise, and yes, it was a squirrel. No more evidence of the other critter in the rodent family since Friday. We're still watching.
