I am using Vista and have had no significant problem but I can't seem to convince my wife that next time we should get an Apple computer. I've had one a long time ago but she is Microsoft all the way. I tried really hard but I failed. She has a Dell. Oh, well.

I've never had an Apple computer. I'm a Linux fan, personally. Now that Apple has adopted Linux as their OS, they have become intriguing to me.

The first thing I do with the Vista machines I work on now is change the menu mode back to "Windows Classic" and place a command prompt icon on the desktop. Vista Ultimate with the latest service pack seems pretty stable to me as long as you have at least 2 GB of memory.

SQL server 2005, on the other hand, provides no means to put me back in my comfort zone.
I agree with you on the Classic view. I have Vista Home Premium on three machines and they seem quite stable to me.
I am running Home Server on one machine and it's been very solid with a couple of very small weird things going on.
