FLA-Vyk Return from Spring Fling
I want to say that Sue and I had a great time at Spring Fling. It was wonderful too see old friends and meet new friends. Well today we left about 0900a and headed to Higlands NC, arriving there 2:15p. We were on some fantasic roads (64 and 28) and I feel the everyone at Spring Fling would have enjoyed the roads also. Highlands was a cute town with lots for shops to spend money. We left there around 5:00p and stope for the night in Washington GA abouth 6:30p with everything either closing or closed. Do not where we will head tomorrow, but will post up tomorrow. Till then.

Sue and I drive from Washington GA to Savannah GA. The drive was very un-eventful, driving through farm lands on some back roads then picked up I-16 straight in to Savannah. While in Savannah we took the city tour which showed us the historic, victorian, and civil war era's of town. We drove through 21 of the park squares and the down by the river front. We tried to get reservations at "Lady and Sons". Pauls Deen's restaurant. But we were not lucky, there was over a 3 hours wait for a table. We decied that it was not worth it to wait and returned to the hotel. The tour was just enough to want to come back for a longer stay. We are off to St. Simons and Jekyll Island tomorrow. Till then

Nice trip, Vyk! Lady and Sons is popular because of Paula Deen, but I understand it is not really that great. We did not eat there, but tried some other top-rated places. The +1 liked most of his dinners; my luck wasn't as good. Breakfasts at our B&B were the best meals there. Every meal in Charleston, on the other hand, was fabulous!! I'm still reminiscing about the fried green tomato BLT at Toast. Yum...

Well we made it home after a fantasic trip to Asheville NC and returning to Florida by way of the Georgia coast.. It was a beautiful drive from Savannah to Fort Federica, St Simons. Jekyl Island GA then home. We got on US 17 and drove the coast highway which turns in to A1A. But because of the time we picked up I-95 at Jekyl Island. There is not way to explain the drive through the mossy oaks and magnolias along and over the roads other than beautiful. There was a lot of conFirstruction on Jekyl Island. I want to go back again.
