I watched W's and Alan Simpson's eulogies during my lunch break today. Very nice.

I didn't agree with a lot of his politics, but completely with what you just said, father and son.

He will be missed! RIP.
Very Cool! He will be missed as the last of a breed. I have had the pleasure of seeing his log book and the Stearman that he trained in at the Air Museum of the Pacific on one of my trips to Hawaii,

There was a time when Presidents acted presidentially. Whether or not you agreed with George H W Bush's politics ( I didn't), there is no denying that he acted with dignity, grace, and class. He was a man of great character. I am hoping that we will see more politicians like him in the future. I'm not sure we will.

I watched just bits and pieces of the service (I was at work). I was able to watch George W's speech. It was lovely, and moving and personal. He did a wonderful job. I felt his grief. Many of us have been there with the loss of parents and loved ones.

Yeah, that one was a tear jerker. Being very close to my father, I think it struck a nerve for me as well. I have a lot of respect for him and can only imagine how what will be for me when the time comes. But it was a very nice eulogy.

I read that there was a man from Kuwait, who had been taken prisoner when Sadaams forces invaded until the coalition saved him., who went to the funeral and waited 5 hours in line to get to the casket to say thank you. That also was tear inducing!

I do wonder about the reasons/need that some folks have/feel to stand in line for hours to pay respects. I've never felt such strong emotion to the passing of a public figure that I would stand in line for hours, but I certainly get what the man from Kuwait would feel the need to do so.
