No matter what operating system you decide to choose, make sure it's been secured by appropriate antivirus and latest system patches.

You'll be able to decide exactly when to actually do the install. You can reserve the free upgrade now, then hold off actually installing it until you get the OK from the software vendor.

If an app runs under 7 or 8, then there should be no issue, but if you're paranoid, you can wait and let others find out for you. You'll have up to a year to actually do the install, as far as I've read.
Thank you, Jonas! Nice, simple, answer.....

I'll sign up and you tell me how it goes after you install the program!
Works for me!

Have always had the alpha/beta version of MS's operating systems..... fun to play with!

Only one I didn't mess with was Windows 8..... looked like a PiIA from day one!

I had an opportunity to see Win10 at a Microsoft store. Win10 appears to be a combination od Win7 and Win8. Very nice. +1 just a Surface 3 Pro, the combination of Win7 desktop feel combined with the flexibility of Win8 for portable devices makes it quite good for all devices and amazing for hybrid portable devices like the Surface Pro,

Now when is Apple going to bring out a "real" tablet-computer (emphasis on computer)? I do wish they would, it'll make the stock go up, but I still wouldn't buy one .
