Fuel Cost and Gas Guzzlers
 

With the rising cost of Fuel, have you though about selling your Gas Guzzler ?

At what Fuel price would you consider selling your SUV, Van, or 8 mpg Hot Rod ?

More people are switching to more fuel efficient cars and SUVs, I see it every spring when the gas prices go up.

Sold my 10 mpg Gas Pig last year. She was a 95 Chevy Conversion Van with a 40 gallon fuel tank that we had to fill 3 times a month. :yikes:

One of my reasons for buying my S was the fuel economy, and of course the Fun Factor. :D

My other car is a 1998 Honda Odyssey van. It gets about 21 mpg so it's about the same as my S. :thumbup:

I'm sure more than a few H2 daily drivers with more ego than foresight are doing this nowadays :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Yea that is a lot, I can hear them depreciate all the way from here in the Zoo.

I was so Happy :D to see my Chevy Van go bye, bye, before there was no resale value left.

I've never owned a gas guzzler, so no need to sell one. But the size of vehicles has gotten completely out of hand. Obscene, really...not to mention I'm not too thrilled at the thought of being flattened by one. If they all disappeared tomorrow, I wouldn't be sorry.

Those large SUVs do have their place, I think. But if people simply bought those gaz guzzlers for no other reason than the "cool" factor such as in the case of H2, then perhaps they are now having to reconsider their decision matrix. People will only make decisions when they are forced to make them such as between buying a bag of grocery or filling a tank. As long as their lifestyle is not seriously affected by the rising cost of fuel, they will continue to drive them and flaunt. :hello:

I fully support someone who NEEDS an SUV for their work or avocation. The saddest thing of all is how the tax code encourages folks to buy the biggest SUVs b/c of the "business tax expense" write-off :whome:

Just one more way that the good ol' typical American is (slowly) killing the earth for their great, great, great grand children :( Sorry for the rant....otherwise, it's a beautiful day in SE Peeay :hello:

I'll probably drive the S a little more but my gas guzzling truck (14-15MPG) will stay as will my SUV (17-18 MPG) and Porsche (17-19 MPG). Gas is a living expense and if it doubles I'm still paying less than the rest of the world.
