According to the US Energy Information Administration, the peak national average gas price for March 9th 2026 was $3.50.
On June 14 2022, previous administration, the peak national average gas price was $5.01.
California still lead the way with $1.80 to over $2.00 a gallon more throughout the timeframe.

I wanted to fill the tank of the BRZ today as I was driving it a bit and I want to keep it full while in storage. I usually go with 93 Shell but I have Sunoco 94 closer to my home. I filled it with 94, and that stuff was over $2 a litre !
I don't want to think of it on the basis of a gallon, but it must be costing me well over $8.00 a gallon . hot damn.

Very misleading post. Price in 2022 was based on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

I remember driving to Florida on some past family road trips, and fuel prices seemed higher back then, compared to what they have been in the past 10 years, I don't recall who was in government or what world events may have shaped pricing, but 2008, 2011-2013 were high price years.
