A Grateful Granny here
Just a quick report in to thank everyone once again for making this the greatest meet ever and to let everyone know I'm okay, just a little sore and very glad to be sitting here staring at all these files that multiplied while I was away. Somehow the trees looked a little prettier this morning and the traffic jam wasn't so bad and these files actually look beautiful this morning. I am truly grateful and thankful first to God for allowing me to walk away from that mountain. Then for Matt and the wonderful folks in Matt's group for staying with me while I was in shock, and then for our dear sweet S2K Billy and Skip for taking care of the insurance call and getting my car towed to a shop where Billy could oversee the repairs. I couldn't ask for a more caring and take-charge group of people. I thank God for you all.
Thanks Perk (and her hunky +1 (Vito)) for playing ambulance driver and staying with me at the hospital (even if you did tell everybody where I got my shot of pain killers  ) Thanks to Rob's Liz and Jerry's Kathy for putting me to bed and making sure I was comfortable for the night. I would have stayed put after that but Zcar's Sheila stopped by to check on me and told me that Legal Bill was still over there leading folks in song so I had to get up and rejoin the group and harmonize with that wild and crazy bunch until we got thrown out of the bar. Bill and Legal Barbara were the highlight of the meet for me along with all the other crooners who were singing at the top of their lungs along with them (of course my lil' brother Rob knew all the words to all of the songs as did the rest of the hardcore singers) I have much more to say so I'll be back at lunch after looking at the great pictures and reading about how the good times really did roll. Thanks gfacter for the ride home, great company and conversation. Berkeley Springs will never be the same. Thanks gang for more wonderful memories to tell about when I'm REALLY old and gray and can't drive no more! I love all of y'all. Signed: A truly grateful granny. |
So glad you are doing OK, Granny...and even back at work!! I think I might have taken another day to recuperate. Anywho, you know we all love you and were happy to help out. The car honestly doesn't look that bad, so I'm hopeful the repairs won't be too extensive. And you didn't look too bad, either, all things considered!! :)

Me too. The car will be fine. |
Just to prove my point about what a great group we have, I just called the shop and they told me that Bill (S2kbilly) had already been by (probably on his way to work) this morning to check on how things were going at the shop where he had my car towed. Now I ask you, is that good looking out or what. I'm just amazed and brought to tears at how everybody but especially Bill is rallying around ol' granny. Gotta go get a kleneex.

Wow...awesome, Dood. :)

Granny  , I got all teared up when I read that you and your baby Blue had a mishap. I'm so glad you are OK and that your baby will be soon too.

Thanks, Patty, I'm sure you would have given ol' granny a hug too like the rest of the gang did if you had been there. Funny part of the story. After they saw that I was all right and it was time to get the car towed, Billy asked me to remove all valuables and things I wanted from the car. So, I look in at the hundreds of dollars of CD, Rob's radio which he so graciously loaned me after I forgot mine, my purse, hat, gloves, calendar, water, cashews and other crap that I carry up front when I drive alone but do I grab any of those much-needed and importat items? Nooooo, the only thing I saw and was worried about saving was your doggone umbrella so I grabbed it first. I laughed afterwards because it wasn't even raining anymore. Amazing what one does when in shock. But don't worry, your umbrella is safe with me until you return to claim it at a future meet. |

They're being replaced before the baby leaves the shop, D. I think one was shot by the accident anyway but don't worry, I'm not taking any more chances after this.

Once we knew you were all right, we weren't really worried about anything else. |
