Default Hello big brother

While tracking a shipment from FedEx, they had the option to sign up for shipment manager.
To verify my identity i had to answer some questions.
They were as follows, each answer buried from from a list of 4
  1. Which county had I lived in?
  2. How old was my son whom they identified by name?
  3. How many acres is my home located on?
  4. Which person had been a member of my household?
The county listed was from 29 years ago.
spooky that he knew who my son was and his age.
I suppose the acreage is public record.
And the person I lived with was my mother in law 30+ years ago.

remember just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're not out to get you!!!

You no longer have to steal someones identify, you can straight up buy it.

Not sure where this came from but totally different from my FedEx registration to track shipments. Only information I had to supply was my name, create a password, and supply my address. That sounds more like a phishing site. Did you go directly to FedEx or was this a buried link in an email or something similar?

I don't mean to pile-on Jerry, but this sounds fishy to me as well. I guess what I don't understand is what you mean by questions and answers? If I'm reading your post correctly, it sounds like the questions were multiple choice and the correct answer for you was available for each question. Is that correct?

This looks like a commercial application for large volume shipments: FedEx Ship Manager

It's legit.

Did that site have the sign up questions Jerry listed in his first post Gene? I'm just wondering if you dug until you found what Jerry is talking about.

Didn't go any further than the FAQ's. Sounds like they were using Credit Bureau questions, though.

Username and password. That was it. Now, obviously I dont' have a commercial or business account and I've had a Fedex account for a couple of years, but no questions.
