Default Hey Gene, remember this song?

Let's have some fun. How about a thread full of obscure, forgotten, forgettable and one hit wonder songs from the 40s, 50s and 60s. Actually some of them are pretty good.

I'll start:

^Yep..I remember that!

Bet you've never heard this one:

And what is widely recognized as the first rock-n-roll song ever:

(Nice thread idea, Rob!)

...and bonus points if you can identify the pin-up-model in the video.

I've heard both. I agree most people think that Rocket 88 was the first Rock n Roll song.

I think the pin-up is Bettie Paige

How about this one. Actually a number one hit in 1954. Only song she ever had a hit with. (I love this song)

....
When Ben and I visited the Blues Museum last month in Clarksdale, Mississippi, there was a whole display on Rocket 88 and the delta influences both before and after. If you're ever in the Memphis area, a visit to this little town is a hoot....90 minutes to the south.

And I do mean SOUTH We had great BBQ for lunch afterwards.

Didn't realize you went that far south on your trip. I'll keep it in mind if I ever get back that way.
