Hey Ray, detailing around clear bra
Ray, If you'd be so kind I have two questions.
1. do you just tape off the clear bra so not to compound / treat it?
2. how do you get yuck off of it? I've got some &^%$%^ pine tar on it?
thanks in advance.

Yes I do tape the clear bra or any film. I use Meguiar's polish which cleans and polishes the film. I don't recommend any solvent or compound as they can damage or haze the film. I detailed a 87 Ferrari with film on the hood using Meguiar's but it was so hazed and spotted the owner replaced it. Try a cleaner/polish in a small area using a Microfiber cloth and rub very gently. Good Luck.

Which of the Meguires polish do you recommend for cleaning the clear Bra. The Porsche has one Thanks

It doesn't stand out that much and it does do a good job of protecting the paint from road chips etc.
But plastic doesn't have the same hardness and durability of paint.
Hitting it with a buffer and compound would induce a haze.

You can always have the bra removed then get wrapped. We have a graphics dealer here and he does great work. I am thinking of getting my BMW 228ix wrapped for the same reasons others do, stone chips on low riding vehicles. A wrap is not that expensive and it is hard to tell unless you are up close. And yes a compound and buffer would make it haze, its not paint.

I've never voted for a car at a car show that did not have stone chips. They are not meant to be garage queens or covered with condoms.
