Hobbies and Stuff
Little tid-bits of this has appeared in a variety of threads.
Here's a chance to try and organize them. I'll start. Thursday, April 22- MAIL CALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3696 pieces! And look at that box! https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...2930902067.jpg That's the bottom... Here's the top of the box. Pretty! https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...5a9345a5ce.jpg Cindy decided that she needed a little break from some her scrapbooking and is a big Harry Potter fan. So this came Tuesday. 6020 pieces!!! It's the 3rd largest set they've ever sold. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...02b23c5b94.jpg I'm guessing I'll need around 30 hours including prep time - figuring the warmer weather will mean less large blocks of time and more 'hour here, hour there' sessions. Probably 3 weeks at most. I'm going to go on a limb and say Cindy will be done around Labor Day. |
For some odd reason I like wrenching on old Hondas as a hobby. It is cheaper than a psychiatrist.

Cindy gets into the Lego creations as well?
Hobbies? Rick likes to grow things from seed and garden. He also likes clean cars. That's a time consuming hobby. I've been known to take a few pictures. Savannah sparrow https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...ac1f2c1330.jpg |
Nice. There's the bird thread, photo thread too. Not trying to diminish those. But Dave's paintings show up in random spots and other things too. Things like that.
I don't think Cindy has done any Lego before. Huge endeavor for her. I cracked the box open. 620 pages across 2 manuals. 1084 steps. Here's the kicker... Those 6 boxes are numbered, and, the manuals go box by box. So no sorting 3700 pieces to get everything out. Just open one box at a time and work through it. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...65cf6e500f.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...2ff3220ca2.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...6be488c945.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...f6e76da474.jpg |
Then I got nothing! NO patience for Lego or Models or sewing, no crafty talent....and certainly no talent for painting.
Carry on!! |
I just planted a single seedless red flame grape vine. In the prior house I had a 1/3 acre vineyard. I hope I can keep one plant alive now. Can't call it a hobby though.

I tend to display, but these are big - so now that I have 2 and a 3rd being worked on - I need to solve this problem soon. I have quite a bit of things already on display.

^Looks Great! You might have to rotate various items for display. I find dust is another challenge too. You might have to find a nice acrylic case for your builds.
