I'm sure this fits your description of a sports car

^ Pic was from yesterday at Lime Rock Park. VSCCA and Jaguar owners club had practice / race events. MG A belongs to our member blueosprey90

Now that's a sports car. I can tell that from the oil drippings. OMG, that's the tallest rollbar I've ever seen in an MGA and believe me I've seen hundreds of MGA race cars. And what with the side pipe?

^ ha ha! I have no idea why the side pipe is the way it is

blueosprey90 bought the car from someone that used to race it before. Perhaps the car came equipped that way. I know he did work on the car, replacing the clutch, new tires, differential etc.

Here are more pictures from the same event in case you'd like to see it

I must add that getting in the car, I developed a new respect for the people that drive these old cars. Space is tight and not really comfortable getting in and out. You needed to have a raging desire to drive something fast to own and drive that car

I guess I qualify. I could go to a vintage race every weekend and never tire of them. I was crewing at Sebring in this shot.

I was wondering if this car was at Lime Rock. It was recently sold by a long time friend from NY to another east coast friend.

Sorry to go OT but these ARE sports cars.
