I am not a robot

Well, maybe I am. I was registering online for a car event in Iowa in July. All was fine until I got to the bottom of the form and had to prove I was not a robot. I am sure many of you have run across this process. Its kind of like the computer programers idea of Wack a Mole. I honestly tried a dozen times to pass the test before it finally agreed I was not a robot. How frustrating! I was ready to give up registering it was that bad. Why the heck can't they get people like Gary, Lainey, Patricia, etc. to take the pictures so you can actually see them? The piss poor resolution of the pictures is always the issue for me, because I really do know the difference between a store front and a car, or a cross-walk and a traffic light. :banghead:

Is it just me? Or do you have the same issue too?

I hate those stupid things.

I have not had a problem with them, but I'm not a fan, either. I think I had fire hydrants yesterday or the day before. :)

I had an issue with one of those the other day as well. It would help tremendously if the pictures were larger so that you can see them.

I miss when you just checked a box that said you weren't a robot, I guess robots have got more clever :(

I think they purposely make the images in poor resolution, to make it harder for image recognition programs to get them right, aka, to keep the robots out :P

I never thought that. If so, someone needs to come up with a better process.

I am not a robot either.

I've had trouble with some of those "tests," too.

However, I don't recall that I have ever "flunked" any of them.

I'm pretty much guessing on many of them, though. I guess that maybe I am a better guesser than you are. :)

the ironic part is the AI's are actually better at it than humans.
it's just worth the expense of applying AI's to solve it.

I hate those things!
