The staple removal was a piece of cake. It was easier than stitches that seem to become more attached to your skin during the healing process.
For the fourth time, they changed my physical therapy appointment. It was supposed to be right after I saw the doctor at 9:15 am and then they said I could come back at 11:30 and see Todd. I do not like Todd. I understand the point of the physical therapy is to get motion in the shoulder because if not it can freeze up but in order to try to make my shoulder move he was digging his fingers into my black and blue arm and that hurt a lot. It's like he didn't understand the bone was broken from trauma and this was not an elective surgery recovery. I plan on calling back tomorrow morning and finding out about using a different physical therapist. I saw a woman physical therapist after tendon transfer surgery and one for neck exercises and they were much easier to deal with than Todd was.

Yes, I told him it hurt and he didn't seem to care. I was given exercises to do three times a day. I have PT twice a week.

^5-20-2019. Pre- staple removal. The incision is a lot longer than the metal plate. Today would have been my dad's 94th birthday.

I adore cats but this one would be euthanized if it was mine. He was stalking me on Wednesday night.
...I am doing very well, according to the second physical therapist, Gray, I saw this week. He said I have very good shoulder motion for two weeks out and he expects me to recover my motion nicely without any possible frozen shoulder. That was a relief but also what I thought. I know I'm able to do more all the time. Gray is my guy. I went in better prepared and made sure Gray understood the pain I have that was due to the trauma and not the surgery. Todd, the PT I saw on Monday, saw me in the waiting room, and we talked. I told him it was a failure to communicate on my part. He thought he did fine by me on Monday. Live and learn. I always am.
