The +1 just bought himself a new Fitbit. He's been wearing one for awhile. But y'all can get an even better device - the shock bracelet!!

Six days on the Cape with Grand Kids. Ate way too much ice cream! But I'm down a bit from my recent high to 166.8. I'm home now for three days so maybe i can knock of two or three more before I go back down on Thursday to try and start my summer vacation. Bottom line is I'm up six pounds from my recent low.

Despite some temporary plateaus and slight up-ticks, I am now down 28 pounds since January 20. The full impact of this amount of weight loss hit me when I carried our dog into the vet, and she weighs 24 pounds. So I had been carrying around her weight plus 4 pounds for all these years. No wonder I was sluggish!
That is great, Gene. Congratulations!!
I had a similar experience carrying a cooler that weighed about 30 pounds down the dock to my boat. The same thought went through my head.

I bough the fit bit Charge 2 after I retired. I think it does keep me motivated. I know I've mentioned it before. A personal challenge is to get the 10K steps daily. I love it when my wrist buzzes when I make it. I also set it at the beginning of a class to see how I've done. I use the ap to log in food I'm eating (most days). I'm sure it's not the most accurate gadget for this, but it does give you a bit of accountability when you see the calories adding up and how quickly you can get to your daily calorie allotment.

I could have used that this past week. I had four scoops of ice cream in a single day.

I was saved from consuming gelato today. Rick and I went to the lovely town of Stonington, CT....the borough of Stonington. The Weather Channel had it listed as a small town to visit. It was small indeed. One main street with shops, old historic homes, water views. Had over 12K steps in by the time we left. Lovely little town, quiet with very few tourists, people around. One of the shop sold gelato. I wanted some before lunch but we kept walking and then it was time for lunch. After a lobster roll and some house "chips" I still wanted it. Stopped by the shop and they only had three flavors, none of which "spoke" to me. Thanks, but no thanks.....I ate yogurt flavored chocolate covered raisins as we headed home.
