It is truly remarkable that anyone from his era, driving the vehicles that he did, survived to his ripe old age.

:iagree: As one who road raced motorcycles back in the mid 70's. The scariest bike I ever raced was a highly modified Kawasaki H-2 (750 CC two stroke three cylinder, with a Wirges blue printed motor, with three 36 MM Mikuni carbs with reed valves and expansion chambers). This bike would do third gear 100 MPH wheelies simply by rolling on the throttle. The chassis was not up to the task as it was made of tubular steel and would wobble like crazy down the straights.

RIP in deed.

Strange, but I don't recall following his career. Certainly I know of him but it seems to me he was shadowed by the other greats of that period.... or at least for me. RIP.
