LA area folks I need some special help.
Let me start by saying I do not make this request lightly.
It exposes some fairly private information and it is not easy to do.
If I was asking for money ( I'm not), it would read like a scam. I'm only asking the folks on vintage first since you know me.
I suspect from some of my posts on the state of mental health, you will understand why.
If you are in the LA area, specifically towards the airport, I could use some help.
For the last month or so, my eldest son is somewhere in LA. We are trying to get him home but there are a few challenges.
He lost his cell phone before he left here. He has the clothes on his back and apparently has lost his shoes.
He either lost or had his wallet stolen and consequently has no ID. His PayPal credit card was also in his wallet so he has no funds.
I have no way to contact him except responding to phones calls when he occasionally borrows someones phone or responding to emails when he gets to the library.
Perhaps the greatest individual challenge is he has dissociative schizophrenia. He is non-violent but sometimes has a hard time distinguishing reality from thoughts in his head.
This leads to behavior like a one way ticket to LA without a plan, money or any other clothes.
We had booked a ticket for him a week ago Monday. Unfortunately he parted company with his wallet late Saturday night or early Sunday Morning.
I directed him to go to the police for help. Unfortunately he did not file a robbery report but he asked for an ID which he failed to get. So no flight Monday.
If I knew where he was I would fly out and bring him home.
We have an extra license ( from the last time he misplaced his wallet) here which of course does him no good whatsoever in LA.
Ideally I would have someone who I could send it too. Additionally I would send funds to help him with transportation etc.
I am not asking for him to stay with anyone, just to facilitate the ID delivery.
In my fantasies they could help make sure he actually gets on the flight.
If you believe you can aid in my endeavor, please PM me.
thank you all,
Jerry

Jerry, I hope things work out quickly. It must be really tough trying to resolve this from your end.

Hugs, Jerry and Barbara. I'm sure it took a lot to post this.

Jerry in Bolton, I don't know if you would want to do this but I imagine you'd get more response if you posted this in the SoCal forum.
