The word is soul, but sole does fit very well if you've ever lived there.

My soon-to-be 15 year-old needs to learn to drive a stick! I am thinking I'll enlist the poor Fit for this duty and NOT the S.

I find this interesting since all of our cars (4) are manual and both of my kids learned to drive a stick. I remember my daughter having difficulty driving rentals since they were automatics. She also said she wouldn't date a boy who couldn't drive a stick. lol

Lucky for my son-in-law he could.

I believe everyone should learn to drive on a stick. But, I think something like 100% of State Governments disagree with my opinion.

Here’s a compelling reason to drive a stick shift. A free auto detailing should be the reward of this endeavor. See-the-reason-here

my daughter was taught in a field with a 4 spd pickup truck... she got a prius..

learning to drive stick was weird... I took Drivers Ed in Kansas, then we got stationed to Japan... so I learned on an automatic and drove left hand drive for those months that summer, and then went an began driving right hand drive and got a stick... thus began an immediate love for Honda S 600 which developed into a passion for british sports cars....
