I also had s one gallon fuel can and bought the six-pack of oil cans. It was pretty easy, I really wasn’t complaining too much. The two-strokes served me well for s long time.

I’ve never bought expensive canned gasoline for my home maintenance devices. I normally take a pleasurable drive to a local marina and purchase ten gallons of ethanol-free gas which will last throughout the year, that is…if its kept in a sealed container.
This link might help determine where you can purchase ethanol-free gas in your state: https://www.pure-gas.org/

My honda weed-whacker / brush trimmer has been peeving me of late.
Starts ok following normal sequence, flip the choke off and start running great.
Give it a little gas and then it dies. After that it won't start again. sputters and stops.
This morning I took the switch assembly apart. Nope everything fine, same behavior.
I really really hate to give other folks money when i don;t ave too, but i was pretty close to bringing it in.
one last perusal through some forum pages and somebody said make sure you check the gas cap.... hmmm
So I gave it another go, pulled the gas cap almost all of the way off and whaddayahknow. runs like a champ.
Somehow the cap has a ventilation function. Once the engine started it was quickly creating a vacuum in the tank and preventing fuel from flowing.
quickly looking at it, i can't figure out how it works but hey it's $11.85.or 16.65 on amazon, click and done with it.

I was so annoyed I had the milwaukee 18v on my screen ready to buy.

I have an Echo too. I've had it for 6 or 7 years. It works fine and always starts. It does seem to use a lot of gas, but for the small amount of trimming I do, it's fine.

Is there some advantage to using ethanol free gas in a two stroke engine? I've been using regular gas from my local gas station, mixed with two stroke oil in my string trimmer, chain saw and leaf blower for years. Should I make a change?

I can no longer get my gas powered string trimmer to start with out risking a heart attack. So I am considering buying this one:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/EGO-15-i...02SF/300638783
The reviews are good and I have a friend that has one who loves it.

I've started going over to electric goodies i got a reciprocating porter cable.
My wife loves it. it's not intimidating like the chain saw. Light and convenient.
For anything under 3 inches it will do the job. important if you have to get up on a ladder.
