Chris and I just watched Buffalo beat favored Arizona 89 to 68. Buffalo was hot all night. Arizona played like they were asleep all night.

Hope they play the same way against Kentucky! They were on fire last night.

I like college bball a lot but not the pros at all. So today and tomorrow I'm planning to check out about 10 teams that interest me - my college teams, NC and Duke, plus Butler, Xavier, VA, WVA, Villanova, FL, KY, and Gonzaga.

Even tho Michigan is always well represented I doubt if I will watch much, if any, unless one of them reaches the finals. I will be watching many hours of Sebring this weekend on FS1 and FS2.

As a UB alum, Thursday was awesome. Didn't make it to the end of the game, and was a bit shocked early morning when I saw the final. I think they are underrated and have an excellent chance vs. Kentucky..

Then, I got up early today to see that the UMBC Retrievers crushed Virginia... So, it has now happened on the men's side, the 16-1 upset!

Typical exciting 1st round.

That UMBC/VA game was unbelievable. No matter what happens going forward, UMBC has gone into the history books and they can certainly be proud of that! A #!6 seed has never beaten a #1 seed. The analysts I saw seem to agree that it was the greatest upset in the tournament history. What I most liked about it was the sheer joy and excitement on the faces of the UMBC players after almost every basket. It was nice to see with so much bad publicity for some of the basketball programs casting a shadow over the tournament..

^ I fell asleep early in that game, and wow! was I surprised to hear the score this morning. I'll bet most everybody's bracket is now busted!
As a side note, our ACC surely isn't fairing well in the tourney this year.

Same here, I am not a college or pro basketball fan.

UMBC didn't just nip Virginia at the buzzer. They completely dominated the TOURNAMENT #1 seed for the entire second half. This Cinderella might just be really good. I think their coach just won NCAA coach of the year?

SEC is doing ok so far. Arkansas lost but KY, Bama, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee and Texas A&M won their first games. So, better than the ACC and WAY better than the poor PAC 12 which is out of the tournament completely. Bama lost today which doesn't really break my heart. MSU missed the big dance and is in the NIT.
