March Madness
I am not a fan of pro basketball, but I do like some of the college games. My teams are my alma mater UNC and Duke. UNC seems to have gotten in under some controversy. See what happens. Watching Georgia/Gonzaga right now. Georgia forgot to show up. Bit of a surprise.
Deb, as you know that I was as big a college BB fan as anyone, especially since I (and my dad) both graduated from NC State, and both Duke and UNC were two of our biggest rivals. I have always followed the ACC closely, but now, as they say, it ain’t what it used to be. With teams in Texas and California and others now members of the conference, it no longer represents the Atlantic Coast as it used to. In addition, with “student athletes” now getting paid to play and able to change schools through the portal, they no longer represent the majority of their respective student bodies. I really miss the days of 7 teams in the conference who truly had student athletes who were really students and were there to learn and graduate. Therefore, for the first time in 60 years or so, I no longer follow college BB. Now, off my soap box!
I went to a school where academics mattered more than sports ...

I think it was more fun when you had the office pools for the brackets. I think the innocence of 40 years ago has long succumbed to TV and big business.

2) I, too, enjoyed the office pools for March Madness, and ran ours for about 15 years. Go figure!

I have to add it was fun to watch basketball. It was probably the first time we have watched a game in 20+ years and we watched two. I think there is more physical play than in hockey and how the ref's decide who did what to who is beyond my ability.
I was rooting for Florida since our grandson is in his first year there.
