To answer some questions: No body paint because Vintage IS a family forum. Also no night shots because this was just a day trip over to The Big Easy, a little over an hour away.
Patty, the weather was fantastic. The weekend and Monday were cold and dreary.but the sun came out Tuesday morning and stayed out, with temps almost hitting 70.
Dave, the best time to visit New Orleans depends on what you are looking for. For the best music, plan on coming down in Summer, Spring, or Fall, although Winter is also great. For the best food experience, try to get out on a day ending in "y". And for just all around fun plan your trip between Ash Wednesday and the following Fat Tuesday. Seriously, I've been to New Orleans a number of times throughout the year and always enjoyed it. But spring and fall are best, weather-wise. (Spring in N.O. runs from March through May. Fall means late October through early December. Summers are quite hot, but The Running of the Bulls, NOLA style is in July. They just do it in the morning before it gets crazy hot. If you do come down be sure and let us know. We can provide some "insider" tips and would love to hook up for an adult beverage or three. nola.com is a great resource for what is going on around town. Jazz fest is fantastic, but Quarter Fest is better and its free. Running of the Bulls NOLA is a nice excuse to start drinking around 6 AM.
And, yes, that is my ugly mug in the gold fedora with black lace. Since this IS a family site, I didn't include "my ladies" in the pic.

Great pics and good info to have. We went to Lafayette awhile back and had loads of fun. Some family members came, the +1 ran a half marathon and we ate our way through town. Delish! I'd like to do something similar with NO, but combine it with a trip to and from on a paddleboat. Probably would not be for another couple of years, since we are committed to the big trip to France in July, but it's on my list!
