Lets hope it continues, I know I've come back a good bit since the end of the year.

I feel worst of all for government contract workers who will not receive back pay. Some may be paid by their companies through the shutdown but apparently a lot of them are not so lucky.

Not feeling great about flying right now. TSA workers and air traffic controllers who are working without pay (for now at least) are probably not in the best of moods.

I feel sorry for those that have to continue working without pay but those are furloughed I ask where was everyone when I got laid off for about six months every year for five years. None of my co-workers were interviewed on CNN or Fox because we weren’t working.

Good points Bill, I just hope this mess ends soon for everyone affected. Enjoy the games, especially the 2nd one.

I have to agree. When we are furloughed because of the lack of funding to operate fully, we file for unemployment and are glad we have a job to come back to. I have heard absolutely nothing about any of the furloughed workers filing for unemployment compensation. If you have to work, sure, you should get back pay but.....I'm not so sure why you would pay people who were not working. Sure they have bills to pay and they are out of work through no fault of their own but how is that any different than the private sector?

You are right, that was WAY off topic. Glad I am around 8 years to retirement age. Hopefully the market will be booming before then. I turn 59 in March.
