i thought this was funny! Our S2000's have this anti-theft device as well.

I would probably call a manual choke a millennial anti-theft device. A manual transmission is a Generation Z anti-theft device.

I have seen that spare tire cover. Pretty funny. Sad that the manuals are going away!!!!

I read recently in the news about a story where someone stole someones car that was idling in the driveway and made it about half a block before ditching it because they could not drive a manual :P

And yeah, it would be interesting to see how many even knew what a manual choke was!

Odd thing... at work some of the very youngest ppl (in early 20s) know how to drive a manual transmission car. A lot of ppl 25-40 have never driven a car with a stick shift.

I think early JDM and European (like early GTi) cars are kinda making a revival with the hipsters (and younger).

That is probably helping some.

Due to international travel (And manuals being more common in rentals in some countries) I am tasked with teaching a couple of younger folks how to drive a manual at work. This should be interesting ... but will definitely not be in my S2k :P

I've heard that only 6% of the cars being made have manual transmissions and only 18% of the licensed drivers know how to drive manual transmissions. How did this happen?

And here I thought that you finally made it to 1920. I'm disappointed.
